happiness

"Perhaps we feel like that when we die and become a part of something entire, whether it is sun and air, or goodness and knowledge. At any rate, that is happiness; to be dissolved into something complete and great. When it comes to one, it comes as naturally as sleep."
Willa Cather--My Antonia

  1. Dear Alison ______ Mercer,

I had no idea that I was allowed to write you comments even though I'm not a blogger. Now I can make my stalking public... Cool. I love this quote the most. Ha I went to goodreads and read all the other quotes by this author and "liked" like twenty of them. Best best best. Wanna read my writing paper and fix it for me before I have to turn it in? It's not really a rhetorical analysis, it's an argument but I'm sure you can still spruce it up a bit. I don't know if you can tell by the 15 comments I have left you on facebook in the last two seconds or now by this lengthly blog comment... but I have officially lost my mind. I suddenly have so many things to say about everything and I feel the need to use correct grammar, spelling and even capitalization in all that I write. I even wrote a text message that wasn't all in lower case letters. Wish you were here to witness me going insane. Hopefully I don't make any excessively spontaneous choices that result in negative consequences such as deciding to skip finals and end up failing this semester. Ha, I am so creepy and weird. Whatever.

    Thank you for your time,

  3. I like that I just went off about how great I am at using correct grammar when that message is filled to the brim with improperly structured sentences. My freakin' bad.
